Porsche 356 preA 356A Nardi & C 1954 Wood Steering Wheel

Immaculate Original early Nardi & C 42 cm flat wood steering wheel.

The first Owner was Lee Leston UK. This steering wheel was placed originally on a Willmont which was raced till 1957 by Lee Leston in the UK. This steering wheel was given by Lee Leston in 1957 as a present to the engineer, Mr. Greeff who made the special gearbox/transmission of the raced Willmont.

Origin: I purchased this steering wheel 6 months ago from the son of that UK engineer, Jason Greeff who lives in the USA.

The steering wheel has an original Nardi & C Porsche hub to fit 356 pre A and 356 A Porsche.

The steering wheel is in immaculate condition – newly varnished with the correct amber varnish as used by Nardi & C in the 1950′s (same as Riva boats Italy)

It is being offered for sale with 2 original NOS Nardi 1950′s horn buttons:
a St. Christopher and a Nardi/Reuter Porsche horn button.

Back in the 1970′s to 1990′s, the original Personal/Nardi company used to offer beautiful wooden steering wheels with nice horn buttons with different cars emblems for BMW – Porsche – Ferrari – Rover – Mercedes – Alfa Romeo – Aston Martin – MG – Jaguar – Rolls Royce, etc.

Those strong and well-made domes with emblems were manufactured for Nardi/Personal in Brissago (VA) Italy by a company called SPM s.p.a.

Many things changed in the last 40 years for the Nardi Company and its suppliers.
The company SPM s.p.a. in Brissago does not exist anymore.

I was able to buy (from a retired Italian wholesale car parts dealer), the leftover inventory of original 1970′s to 1980′s Nardi Torino horn button domes with different emblems manufactured through SPM spa. Plus many Nardi horn buttons. And a large stock of NEW old Nardi wooden steering wheels dating from 1954 (Nardi & Co) to the 1980′s for Mercedes, Porsche, Alfa Romeo, Rolls Royce, Ferrari, etc.
