Description
Original Made 1963 Enrico Nardi – Small Diameter 42 cm Mercedes W113 230 SL wood steering wheel.
Original varnish (60 years old now)
No damage on the wooden rim.
The top rim between 10 and 3 o’clock shows some varnish split which you can’t see from the facia of the rim.
No corrosion on the metal center or frame or spokes. (Rare)
Beautiful African Mahogany Wooden Rim
Flawless mirror-like glossy spokes with Deep E. Nardi embossed signature. Original Large black horn button (complete) with dark blue Mercedes Star horn button center.
Flawless center hub and backside hub (Never fitted on a vehicle)
Ultra Rare original Complete Made 1963 vintage wood steering wheel to fit a 1963 230 SL.
Original new old stock Nardi Mercedes steering wheel to fit only Mercedes W113 230 SL from 1963 till 1966.
This is a very rare steering wheel in this 42 cm Diameter with a large diameter center and large horn button (Standard were 43 cm)
Please Note that Original Enrico Nardi wood steering wheels were only manufactured till his death on 26 August 1966.
The best original Enrico Nardi wood steering wheels were manufactured from the 1950’s till 1966.
E, Nardi steering wheels manufactured from 1967 till the closing of the company were differently manufactured with 2 halves of a rim glued together and not having backside rivets.
Those Models from 1967 till 1969 have corrosion problems – detachment of the 2 half rims and bad wood lamination showing stripes.
